Dr. Drake is a Lecturer (III) in the Educational Studies program at the University of Michigan’s (U-M) Marsal Family School of Education where he has worked since 2013. Dr. Drake completed his Ph.D. in K-12 Educational Administration at Michigan State University (MSU) in May of 2023. Prior to his roles at U-M, Dr. Drake worked for 10 years as a teacher and educational leader in under-served communities. Dr. Drake’s scholarship, teaching, and administrative practice aspire to reduce racialized and gendered harms that may result from educational systems and processes. Specifically, he examines how the structures, policies, and contexts of learning organizations are associated with the experiences and outcomes for those whose identities have been historically marginalized. He is honored to serve on the board for Everstory and support the continued efforts of founder Garret Potter.
